We remain a family owned company with a history of over
50+ years of knowledge of the armored vehicle industry.

While Smith+Griffin might be a new name, our history remains. As the premier manufacturer of armored vehicles in the United States, we recently expanded our manufacturing capabilities by 300%. We also added state-of-the-art equipment, enhanced our technology and engineering functions, and brought on a knowledgeable, experienced administrative staff. All to ensure every customer receives unmatched quality, service, and dependability.

Owners

Danny & Kathy Smith

Danny and Kathy, Owners of Smith Transportation Equipment and Smith+Griffin, both located in Byhalia, Mississippi, bring over 50 years of combined experience in manufacturing transportation equipment. Since founding STE in 1994, the Smiths have been committed to introducing the latest and most innovative solutions to the airline ground support, agricultural equipment, loading dock, and distribution center industries.

With the recent acquisition of the assets of the former Griffin, Inc. in 2022, they have now expanded into the cash-in-transit industry as well.

Married for over 40 years, Kathy and Danny have four children and seven grandchildren.

Steve Blount

Steve Blount, as President, leads the overall strategic planning and program execution for the entire Smith+Griffin organization. As a representative of the oldest Cash-In-Transit (CIT) vehicle manufacturing company in the United States, Steve brings over 30 years of manufacturing experience, including 20 years specifically in the CIT industry.

Steve and his wife, Tracy, have two children and one grandchild.
